I was introduced to 3D Game Lab by our district's Teacher of the Year. He used it with his middle school students and after thinking about it for a few days, I decided I'd try it out for the 4th quarter of the school year.
I'm interested in finding something that will really get my students to invest in their learning. We have very big motivation issues at my school as a whole. The students don't really see a value to education. Most view it with an 'us vs them' mentality, with the staff being their enemies out to get them with bad grades. They also don't know just how large their deficits are and how difficult the education system has made it to prove student learning is taking place.
I'm hoping 3D Game Lab gives me that motivating factor that can really turn around student attitudes.
